yes the "?" on the tie is backwards but it is only pinned on ... it will be tacked on the correct way.

Bought Chris and myself copies of AION yesterday and played it for a while. Got my Scout up to lvl 6.

It plays very much like WoW so far but is WAY better looking. The character customization for body shape size and facial features are bind blowing. There are many hair selections and some of them are very elaborate. Can't do much about your equipment though so there is no costume design though I think later on you can dye your equipment.

One BIG problem with it already is gold farmers. I had to turn off all of the public channels right away. Which in doing so I accidently turned off that Chat channel so if anyone was trying to say stuff to me the first 2 hrs I played I might have seemed like a UBER snob. You can't send tells/whispers to anyone until lvl 5 which was a little annoying as I was trying to contact a friend in game to let them know I was playing. You can't friend someone unless they are online which is annoying too and they have to accept your friend request which is both good and bad.

Our friends who play will be forming a Guild or "Legion" soon so that will make keeping in contact much easier.

So far I like it .. we'll see how long that lasts. I have a feeling the community will have more of a WoW feel (which I hated) then a CoH one that always draws me back to Paragon and the Rogue Isles.... I still think it's because of the Greed factor... less of a Greed factor in CoX when there is no "Loot" and drops are a private thing.

so my buddy just showed me Flintlocke vs The Horde and it has given me the urge to play WoW again.... but I will not give in... I will not! *laugh* Funny Comic though :D It made me recall just how much I hated the Alliance.

It is customary in the Region I live in to have a Buck & Doe/Jack & Jill before one gets married. The money raised at this party goes toward helping the young couple pay for the wedding and/or the Honeymoon.

retrorocketman and I will be having our Buck & Doe on July 11th 2009. I know many of you are too far away to attend but if you would like to buy a ticket to help us out it would be greatly apprecaited. You can email a ticket request to chettle@retrorocketcomics.com and he will send you an invoice. They are 10$ each and we will then mail them to you.

If by chance you can actually attend the party then you are in for a treat as we will be having some pretty sweet raffel prizes :D The Party has a Retro 80's theme so we hope that many people will dress up for the occasion. I know I'll be taking lots of pictures :D

Star Trek

I am not a Trekkie/Trekker whatever. I have seen a episode or 2 of the original serise and thanks to pop culture I am familiar with many Star Trek catch phrases... I mean you'd have to live like a hermit not to know them right? I am a Shatner fan but not a fan of his Trek years.

So did I enjoy the Star Trek Re-boot? Hells yeah I did :) The story was easy to follow and really fun to watch. It was fast paced and full of action and laugh out loud funny in spots. And like a girly girl that I can be I actually cried at the beginning.

Anyway there is the possiblity that I'll be seeing it again tonight... and am looking forward to it *laugh*

I can't wait until the next movie too...and with an opening weekend like that I think another movie is a sure thing.

Tales of Free Comic Book Day 2009

As some of you may know Saturday was Free Comic Book day across North America. It's a really day for Retro Rocket Comics and Toys next only to days leading up to Christmas. This year we had a special guest signing books for us, Mr. Richard Comely, creator of Canadian Icon CAPTAIN CANUCK. Richard is a very sweet man with 8 grown children who has no clue about self promotion. *chuckle* A hardcover graphic novel of issues 4-10 of Captain Canuck will be coming out next month by IDW publishing. The original Artwork as far I as could piece together from various conversations had that day is in the Archives in Ottawa. All pages had to be scanned and remastered.

All in all it was a good day. Sales were good, we saw a lot of new faces and a lot of them were very young children with their parents Gotta hook'em while their young. I was dead on my feet by 5pm which was ok cause it had died down by then. We still have a ton of FCBD books left over so we have extended our sale until Wednesday when the new books come in.

Thank you taffer your advice helped. We did have some deaths (some caused right after we jumped down the hole because I forgot my jack frost was up and he got blast happy on some crystals...yeah I can be such a N00b) We managed to avoid team wiping all together but came very very close to one after Archus went down. We completed the SF in just under 2 hrs. Good times :D

For me this is one of those strange books where the timing had to be right for me to read it. Chris bought it when it frist came out back in 2005 and I started reading it but then just lost interest... actually I likely lost interest in reading all together. So it got shelved for a few years.

Stephanie Meyer: Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn

Nora Roberts: The Pegan Stone (3rd part of a trilogy, have read the 1st 2)

Kelley Armstrong: Bitten, Stolen, Dime Store Magic, Industrial Magic, Haunted, Broken, No Humans Involved, Personal Demon

Patricia Briggs: Moon Called, Blood Bound, Iron Kissed

Laurel K Hamilton: Guilty Pleasures

John Butcher: Storm Front

Sergei Lukyanenko: Last Watch (4th book in the Night Watch series, have read all of them)

The books that stand out in my mind of all of these would be the ones by Kelley Armstrong. Briggs books are fun but too short and often repetitive. Hamilton's books are a lot like Briggs... too short but interesting characters. Butcher was also entertaining and I am looking forward to reading more of is work. Lukyanenko's books are very interesting and often complex, each book is broken up into 3 stories that fit together. Of all of them I think Day Watch was my favorite. Meyer needs to take some writing courses...big time maybe she can learn from Armstrong.

Perp also made the JCs member spotlight and I respect her soon after so her powers are not exactly as shown..

Was a blast except for the fact that Virtue and Freedom were a bitch to get onto at certain parts of the day... and of course at those times our router would need to be re-booted *sigh*

Anyway... here is what I got accomplished....

On Freedom:
North Paw (ice/ice dom) Start: lvl 40 End: lvl 45
Darque Paw (dark/kin corr) Start: lvl 1 End: lvl 17 (I think)

On Virtue:
Inertial Flame (fire/kin troller) Start: lvl 38 End: lvl 41

Just a quick note to my gaming friends... yep I am still alive ... yep still playing CoH/CoV

Been concentrating on my Ice/Ice Cat girl Dom .. she is level 39 and I have to say I am not very keen on the Freedom Server ... I mean yes it is almost always Yellow during my play hours but all anyone seems to want to do is Farm...*sigh* I find it very hard to get on a normal team and am Tired of people broadcasting how much they'll pay for someone to power level their new lvl 10 whatever. *mutter* So yeah I am stuck with a Toon I really enjoy on a server that seems to suck large. I don't really want to re-make her or pay the 10USD to move her to another server though :( Oh well maybe I'll get some teamage going on DBL XP weekend.

Tonight I'll be doing the Manticore TF with The Justice Corps on Virtue... should be fun :D

I'll try to post something here once a month or so just so you know I am alive ;)

Another 50!

Yesterday my lovely Kin/Rad Defender Perpetual Fallout Dinged 50. I think that is the longest I have played CoH/CoV in a very long time. I logged in and as asked to do the ITF which got me from 47 to 48 ... then the leader of the Justice Corps. ask me if I wanted to to the STF. I was 1 and 1/4 bubbles away from 50 so a few of us stuck around to do missions.

So here is my updated list of 50s:
